Businessmen Nazar and Azruddin Mohamed are set to take legal action against social media personality Mikhail Rodrigues, known as the ‘Guyanese Critic’, who accused the father and son duo of committing murder on his Facebook show. “This is war,” Rodrigues decleared to his audience. The ‘Guyanese Critic’ is already facing a $450M lawsuit from former opposition Member of Parliament Simona Broomes over defamation and libel.
On Friday, Azruddin Mohamed told Kaieteur News that the ‘Guyanese Critic’ will be sued for all libelous and defamatory statements made about him and his father, Nazar Mohamed. “The attorneys are looking over this through the weekend and we will take legal actions in the upcoming week,” Azruddin told the newspaper.
The Mohameds have repeatedly denied any involvement in the murder, and the ‘Guyanese Critic’ has defended them by publicly saying that the accusations are unfounded. However, Rodrigues now alleges that the Mohameds were involved in the killing. The Mohameds recently accused Rodrigues of collecting $5M from them to settle with the family of a dead Crane Operator, Shon Joseph, but only gave them $460,000.
Azruddin Mohamed has challenged the ‘Guyanese Critic’ and anyone with evidence about him or his associates involved in the murder to come forward and provide it to the police force. The businessman maintains his innocence.
