The former head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Alliance For Change (AFC) Executive Dr. Vincent Adams has taken exception to comments made by General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) Vice President Bharatt Jagdeo, during a press conference at Freedom House on Thursday, November 2, 2023,

“When we thought that we had seen it all, we now realize there is no limit to the depth of shamelessness and depravity to which to sink,” Dr. Adams said to comments the Vice President made on the influx of Venezuelan migrants across the country’s porous borders.

Dr, Adams said, “He blames the Venezuelan crisis on fringe elements, trying to chisel away at the national solidarity. Where is the solidarity when he meets with the Venezuelans on October 30th, after the meeting between the government and the Opposition, pledging full cooperation between them, appeared to have nefariously lied about the Opposition causing xenophobic acts against them, while the PPP, on the other hand, loves them.”

Dr. Adams referred to a video circulating on social media with Shadow Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Amanza Walton-Desir, MP, “a true patriot leader”, “wrote to Minister Todd, according to her video, asking whether a meeting by VP Jagdeo was organized by the government and for the transcript of the meeting to be made available to the Opposition.”

“If we are collaborating, we have to collaborate all the way, if such a meeting [occurred], it has now become apparent why he could not invite the Opposition to that meeting, where he accused the Opposition of xenophobic acts,” Dr. Adams stated.

“He’s just taking the opportunity behind our backs to score cheap political points. He must, I repeat, he must repudiate that video or else he should resign, for not to do so would be tantamount to being treasonous as well articulated by our brilliant MP,” Dr, Adams said.

“He has no shame or believes that people are foolish and senile to not believe what they’re seeing in the video of him at the top of his voice saying that we should give Venezuela a pathway to the Atlantic.”
