Leader of the Opposition Aubrey Norton and team meet New York Senate delegation

The Leader of the Opposition, Aubrey Norton, and members of the Parliamentary Opposition met with a visiting UD delegation recently. See the full statement below:

On Saturday, 28th October 2023, Leader of the Opposition Aubrey C. Norton, MP, and team met with a visiting delegation from the New York State Senate at the Herdmanston Lodge, Georgetown, Guyana.

The visiting New York State delegation was headed by New York State Senator Roxanne J. Persaud, Senator Kevin Parker and Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman.

The Leader and team made presentations on varying issues affecting Guyana and its citizens home and aboard, including the Guyana – Venezuela territorial controversy, the PPP’s move to establish a one-party state, issues affecting the Indigenous Peoples of Guyana, racial and political discrimination, and the general lack of good governance in the country.

Mr Norton presented a dossier to the New York delegation, outlining the issues he and his team presented.

The visiting delegation expressed appreciation for the presentations and promised to engage in further exchanges to support efforts to improve democracy, good governance, and racial equality in Guyana.
