David Patterson heading to ‘Washington Conference on Guyana’ after CJIA ‘mistake’

Alliance For Change (AFC) Member of Parliament David Patterson has confirmed that he is going to Washington, D.C.

Patterson, who is the APNU+AFC Shadow Minister of Public Works, was scheduled to be in the US on September 26, 2023, to attend a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus at the United States Capitol.

The Member of Parliament (MP) was prevented from boarding his flight after clearing customs and immigration at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA). The officers on duty claimed that they had made a mistake clearing him, adding that a no-fly order was placed in the system.

Patterson, via his attorneys, Hughes, Fields & Stoby Law Firm, said he would commence a case against the state. The MP who is a part of the Parliamentary Opposition’s ‘A Partnership for National Unity and Alliance for Change (APNU+AFC) 10-member team, was leaving on September 26 for the Washington Conference on Guyana, September 27 and 28, 2023, and a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus.
