Guyana’s Embattled Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat who is wading through an Exxon Mobil Guyana audit scandal in which US$214 million of disputed cost oil spending was reduced to US$3 million, has found himself at the center of another scandal.

Activist and Influencer Melissa Atwell ‘Melly Mel’ published screenshots of the complaint on Meta’s Facebook. The person making the allegations, whose name was withheld, stated that she along with other patrons were trying to get pictures with the players at the CPL T20 final match at the Providence National Stadium in Guyana. The “daughter of Minister Vickram Bharrat created a scene because she said I wanted to be in every photo”.

“She brought along him and he and his other family/friends came into my face and told me get The F** out of the pitch. I explained to Mr. Vickram I’m only here to take a picture he said he dont Give A F *** to hear anything from me JUST GO! Don’t you dare disrespect my daughter,” the complaint reads.

Minister Vickram Bharrat Cabinet colleague Minister Deodat Indar, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, has since taken to Facebook and under the post by ‘Melly Mel’ he stated, “Nothing of the sort took place. This is pure viciousness to smear a very humble and quiet young lady.” The Influencer responded, “Did you witness the incident? Should I release this video?”. Minister Indar has not responded.
