A Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) employee was allegedly arrested late last week over an incident regarding a single missing ID Card at the GECOM High Street location.

Our publication understands that a single ID card went missing from the Distribution Centre and a staff was taken to police on Friday.

Reports suggest that the staff was hauled before the court earlier today and is currently on bail for fifty-thousand ($50,000) dollars after charges were laid.

Staffers who spoke with our publication on condition of anonymity stated that an issue of this nature “could have been handled administratively”.
