Parents of the students of the Cropper Primary School at Albion, Region 6, are angry that they were locked out the school’s compound on Monday, September 11, 2023, on the second week since school reopened.
One parent stated, “It’s her first year there, so normally parents go to the school to give their children their lunch because there are little kids that now attending Primary school.”
However, they don’t allow parents in the classroom to give the children their lunch; the parents normally be at a sheds in the school compound, and that’s where the children eat their lunch,” the parent said.
On the day in question, “there was an incident at the school where a part-time worker’s bag was stolen from a classroom.” It was a result of the missing bag scores of parents have locked out of the school compound.
“How can a parent thief the bag of the part-time worker when they don’t even be in the classroom to give the children lunch? When parents turned up at lunchtime to give their children their lunch, they were locked outside the school gate.
The kids had to be on the road outside of the school compound to eat their lunch, and the sun was very hot; it was so much heat that it gave my daughter cold,” the concerned parent stated.
“The HM (Head Mistress) of the school was saying that let the children eat their food right outside on the roadway. How could this be fair to the children and us as parents? Then the HM behaviour was not nice; she used all types of indecent language and the kids was right there listening to her. What example she is setting?” according to the parent.
