– Niewenkirk’s family wants justice
For many Malinda Fiona Niewenkirk, 19, had her whole life ahead of her. That hopeful future was not to be as her young life came to a tragic end in the early morning hours of August 17, 2023, reportedly in a two-story apartment building located at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara.
Initial reports indicate that Malinda committed suicide after a 36-Y-O man who allegedly works for the Office of the President ended a relationship with her. A number of persons who have been commenting on social media suggest there is foul play involved. Activist and Influencer Melissa Atwell, popularly known as, ‘Melly Mel’ has been following up on the story on her Facebook profile and has made sever startling revelations.
Hanging from a door
“Who does hang they self from a bedroom door. GUYANA POLITICAL FORCE make it make sense”, Melly Mel posted on Facebook.
Guyana Daily News in its reporting said, “At about 01:30 hrs this morning, the man left the apartment and went to his home located a few villages away. Malinda contacted him, via messages on WhatsApp, and threatened to kill herself. The two communicated for a while, and the man told investigators he tried to comfort and encourage her not to do that, and the teen stopped replying to his text.” He reported this to the police, a patrol was sent to the apartment and Malinda’s body was discovered hanging from a door. “The body was also examined for marks of violence and a redish circular mark was seen around her neck,” the report added.
Time of Death
Another contention is the time Malinda purported met her untimely demise. With accompanying alleged video evidence Melly Mel states that the former paramour, “left this young lady apartment around 1:30 am, the camera showed your truck leaving at 2:28 am. You made the post to her WhatsApp status at 2:53 am.” After its discovery Malinda’s body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Additionally, Melly Mel seems to suggest that the Guyana Police Force has refused to allow Malinda’s relatives to witness the post-mortem examination.
Not alleged perpetrator’s first rodeo
Another post on Melly Mel’s Facebook profile suggests also this is not the alleged perpetrator’s first encounter with the law. “He was a former cadet in the army, and he got kicked out because he killed a child while drag racing with his friends. Because the woman was poor and couldn’t afford lawyers etc. nothing out of the story to this day… so him taking advantage of that little girl is nothing new,” someone allegedly writes to Melly Mel anonymously.
A wife at home
Malinda’s paramour was a married man and from screenshots also procured by Influence Melly Mel, Malinda was the one who ended the relationship with the alleged perpetrator. In one text message, he allegedly writes: “Make a decision on how we proceed.” Malinda responds, “Thanks for everything…….. wish you all the best in life…….” “so we are now enemies?” he questions in a response.
Decisions to make
In yet other screenshots of text messages the married man, 36, tells the 19-Y-O Malinda: “You are free to choose from the following options to proceed along. If other persons can enjoy that privilege then I can too. You made it very clear Sunday night through your actions and words and you enforced it last night with your friend’s birthday post. 1. Friends 2. Friends with benefits 3. I call you only to sex and pay you immediately for your time.
A baby on the way
As arguments in the story percolate in the court of public opinion, shock, and horror, questions as to motive. From anonymity, another person tells Atwell, “I think she was pregnant or something. I saw them at the hospital recently and she was scared. Both of them looked scared.” Melly Mel says Malinda had an abortion for the alleged perpetrator at Mercy Hospital in July.
Activist and Influence Melly Mel alleges that Malinda Niewenkirk’s phone was purported wiped clean. The alleged perpetrator “deleted everything implicating him out of her phone. But ya didn’t know she use to tell her friends everything including every time you threatened to kill her.”
