Shadow Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Ganesh Mahipaul seemed to have waxed the floor of the National Assembly with the Minister of Human Services and Social Security (HS&SS) Vindhya Persaud who seemed confused and ignorant to the fact that the A Partnership for National Unity and Alliance for Change Government (APNU+AFC) built Early Childhood Development Centers across the country to assist working Parents with expensive childcare cost.
Mr. Mahipaul during his presentation at the 66th Sitting of the National Assembly called for the Minister’s immediate resignation after she was screaming boisterously, “Where were the childcare schools, where where?” Explaining that the minister should tender her resignation forthwith Mahipaul said, “ We built early childhood centers, and the whole background to early childhood centers was so that young children from working parents can have an avenue where they can go and learn, be cared for and nurtured so that parents would not have to worry about children who are three and four years old.”

”Where are they?” screamed the PPP/C Minister Persaud from across the floor?” Mahipaul without missing a beat said, “One of them is located at Region Three in Lenora. I know about that one because my son cut the ribbon to open that school in 2017 0r 2018. There is one in Suddie, there is one in Darthmouth, so the fact that you are asking me Honorable Vindy Persaud where are these schools is enough for you to tender your resignation now from this honorable house, because you are in a position where you can travel off the backs of the taxpayers money, visit those schools and ensure that it is properly taken cared of but you don’t know where they are, that is evidence that you are not utilizing your office for the benefit of the people of this country so I advise tender your resignation now,” Shadow Minister Mahipal stated.
Childhood Development Centers were built under the APNU+AFC’s five year term of Government in Essequibo, at Darthmouth and Suddie Region Two, Anns Grove, Linden, Region 10 and Lenora among other communities across Guyana.
