Balwant Singh Hospital is being sued for over $6.6 million by a patient, Wonder Kellman-Hall, who alleges that the hospital removed her ovaries and cervix without her consent.
Kellman-Hall claims that she explicitly told Dr. Madhu Singh, a gynecologist and CEO of the hospital, that she did not want those organs removed during her surgeries. She only consented to the removal of fibroids and an umbilical hernia.
After experiencing unusual symptoms, Kellman-Hall discovered that her cervix and ovaries were missing during an ultrasound at the Cancer Institute of Guyana Inc.
She confronted Dr. Singh, who explained that she had removed one of Kellman-Hall’s ovaries due to bleeding. The patient has requested documentation of her surgery from the hospital but has not received any.
