On Friday morning in the Cuyuni River close to Eteringbang Landing, Region Seven, a boat collision injured 35-year-old miner Vergil Brown from San Martin, Venezuela. He was captain of a vessel and had two people with him at the time.
According to reports from the Guyana Police Force, Brown’s boat, which was made of wood and had a 40 HP Yamaha outboard engine, was struck by members of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF). They were on their way to buy rations.
Brown’s boat sank after suffering severe damage, and he was transferred to the Eteringbang Medical Center for treatment before being transported to a hospital in Venezuela. (Developing story)
