[Suriname Herald] The National Party of Suriname (NPS)Chairman Gregory Russia today announced in a meeting with President Chan Santokhi that the NPS is ending cooperation in a coalition. The coalition regrets this departure, but respects this decision.
The president expressed his appreciation for the many years of cooperation and hopes that the cooperation will continue in a constructive manner.
The treatment of the state budget will continue normally, counting on the cooperation of every Surinamer and the representation in the National Assembly.
In the coming days, consultations will take place with the relevant political and social actors about the situation that has arisen, and the follow-up process will be initiated on that basis.
