“Those who erred will answer for their errors” Lula tells Bolsonaro

Jair Bolsonaro, former president of Brazil was defiant to the very end of his tenure, flying out of Brazil to the United States on the eve of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, inauguration last Sunday, January 1, 2022.

In his inaugural address to the Brazilian people, Lula said, “Democracy was the great victor in this election, overcoming … the most violent threats to freedom to vote, and the most abject campaign of lies and hate plotted to manipulate and embarrass the electorate” according to Reuters.

The President said that even though “We do not carry any spirit of revenge against those who tried to subjugate the nation to their personal and ideological designs, but we will guarantee the rule of law… Those who erred will answer for their errors.”

Dubbed a “stunning comeback”, Lula takes charge of a polarized, troubled nation vowing to battle inequalities. World Today News is reporting, “Lula announced the first steps to reverse his predecessor’s policies. According to Lula, he will immediately repeal Bolsonaro’s liberalization of gun ownership and stop this “crazy idea with a black zero budget”. Thus, the government will relaunch the “Bolsa Familia” social assistance to support the 11 million hungry and 33 million poor in the country”

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is 77 and yesterday’s inauguration marks his third term in office as President of Brazil. During Jair Bolsonaro’s inauguration in 2019, Lula was in prison facing corruption charges.
