Reports indicate that the toilet and bath at the Maternity Ward of the New Amsterdam Hospital are out of order. Persons familiar with the issue say it has been in this state of disrepair for over two months.
It is also reported that new mothers have to go into the Female Medical Ward instead to use those facilities. Because of what currently obtains, some mothers fear various kinds of sicknesses which they contend are unhealthy for mothers who just give birth.
