Reports indicate that a cyclist identified as Anil Ramanand, aka “Cake Man”, of Enmore, East Coast Demerara, was killed on Saturday, November 5, 2022, after being struck off his bicycle by a motor vehicle. The accident is said to have occurred sometime around 4:30 in the afternoon, on Enmore Public Road.
Inews is reporting that the man was struck down by a motor vehicle, PXX 8090. The publication stated eyewitnesses saw when the vehicle hit the cyclist, and the man was flung several feet away and landed on the road. He apparently sustained severe head injuries.
Inews in its report also published that the man was lying in a pool of blood for some time as people flocked to the scene, including his wife. The distraught woman said he had left home shortly before.
Uncut News is reporting also that the motor vehicle is alleged to be that which transports Minister of Public Works Bishop Juan Edghill. The publication reports that eyewitnesses present at the scene at the time of the accident stated that the vehicle was seen passing earlier heading in the direction of Mahaica.

However, while the vehicle was heading back to Georgetown, Anil was knocked off his bicycle on the Public Road. He died instantly according to reports. Uncut News quotes another eyewitness as saying, “We ain’t hear no siren…. nothing…. all we hear is an impact… and a few minutes after, traffic start to build up…the police dem pulled the vehicle in the corner and they ripped off the number plate.”
