Article 13, ANUG, APNU and AFC walked out as PPP made “farce” of constitution consultation exercise

As representatives of multiple parliamentary parties gathered for consultation meetings on constitutional reform, it became clear that the PPP intended to hinder progress at any cost.

After delaying the meeting and forcing parliamentary party representatives to wait for a number of the PPP’s loyalist organizations to arrive, “Monologues by both Gail Texeira and Anil Nandlall then took approximately two hours. This was a complete monopolization of a proposed three-hour process,” the AFC asserted in a press statement.

Realizing the complete farce that the PPP has worked to make of the meeting, “representative of ANUG, Mr. Timothy Jonas and Mr. Yog Mahadeo, prominent social activist and founding member of the NGO ‘Article 13’ walked out”. APNU and AFC representatives also walked out in protest.

The PPP work hard to hinder any progress on constitutional reform, while they continue to feign interest.
