Petroleum Agreement document missing at the Registry -Ram

Accountant and Attorney at Law Christopher Ram was “confident” that a document regarding the “renegotiation of the 2016 Agreement” existed and showed that “President Granger and Exxon had indeed signed a Deed of Amendment in late 2019 varying the 2016 Petroleum Agreement to make the royalty paid to the Government a non-recoverable expense,” Ram said recently in a missive carried in the daily newspapers.

Ram said, “Knowing that the Deed required registration and is a public document, our staff paid to the Deeds Registry the required fee and was asked to return three days later. When the staff visited the Registry yesterday, she was told that the document could not be found.”

People’s Progressive Party (PPP) promised in the extract of its manifesto to renegotiate the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) but since being installed into office they have found a plethora of reasons why they cannot. On the missing Registry document, Ram says, “This sounds strange – very strange. The question must be asked: who has an interest in “ducking” the document?”
