The APNU+AFC coalition in a message says its deeply saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. “We extend our deepest condolences to her immediate family, to the UK government, and to the people of Great Britain,” the statement reads.
“Britain has lost one of its great national icons. She touched the lives of many in the UK and the wider world. She will be greatly missed by many across seas and oceans.
Though Guyana became independent from Britain in 1966, many Guyanese still followed with interest her life as Queen of Great Britain and as Head of the Commonwealth.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your moment of colossal loss”, the party said.
