Aubrey Norton and team ramp up “aggressive” community outreaches

Since winning the leadership battle for the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) by a landslide back in December last year, Team Aubrey Norton has been aggressively pushing to fulfill his promise of returning the party to the grassroots.

The Leader of the Opposition Aubrey C. Norton has so far covered all ten Regions in Guyana; including overseas engagements and has held door-to-door engagements in approximately sixty (60) communities countrywide over the past eight months.

On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, the Leader of the Opposition and a team conducted an outreach in the village of Anns Grove, ECD, in Region 4. Before that visit, the Leader and his team were in Golden Grove and Victoria a day earlier.

On August 24, 2022, the Leader and his team were in Mahdia, the capital town of Potaro-Sipuruni, Region 8. While in the Region the Leader attended the funeral service of the late Mr. Georges John at the Holy Family R.C. Church. Mr. John was an early pioneer of the Mahdia Settlement.

The Leader later met with party comrades in Campbelltown and other outlying areas to discuss issues affecting them within the communities.

In the weeks prior, the Opposition Leader and team held outreaches in the communities of Bagotville, West Coast Demerara in Region 3; visited the indigenous community of Kako in Region 7 (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), and conducted a walkabout and meeting in the community of Den Amstel, West Coast Demerara.

Additionally, walkabouts in the village of Cottage, Mahaica-Berbice Region, Region No. 5 on August 16, 2022, then on Saturday, June 11th, 2022 the team conducted another walkabout and meeting in the community of Queenstown on the Essequibo Coast, Region #2 and West Watooka, Region 10 are just a few of the Opposition leader’s packed schedule of activities over the past months.

In meetings with people, listening to their concerns, the Leader shared the Coalition’s people-centered vision where all will benefit from the country’s resources without ethnic and political discrimination and exclusion.
