Man goes missing in Georgetown Hospital

Trevon Edwards was in a serious vehicular accident recently resulting in serious head injuries. The accident occurred in Region 7, Cuyuni-Mazaruni, and as such Edwards was taken initially to the Bartica Hospital but was then transferred to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

Edward’s aunt brought him to the city and had a six-hour wait with him to be admitted on the said day from 8 pm, Sunday, August 14, 2022. It is alleged he was, at this time, bleeding from his ear.

Edwards’ aunt left and returned at visiting time Monday morning but instead of seeing her nephew, the woman was told that no one with that name was admitted. “Nurses were very uncooperative”, she related.

The worried aunt was eventually told the patient was transferred to the Amerindian Hostel. Checks were subsequently made at the Hostel, but no one there knew of such arrangement. Edwards’ aunt eventually went to the police who “didn’t pay us any attention”, she recounted.

Another twenty-four hours went by, and the family decided to reengage the police who during the course of an investigation found Trevon Edwards at GPHC.
