“When I learnt of the wanted bulletin issued for me the first person I jumped pon my phone and call is my attorney Damien DaSilva, that is the first person I call and tell him I’m going down to Eve Leary, with or without him I’m going there. Then afterwards I jump on the phone again and I called Bascom… officer Bascom…Dion Bascom. I call him and tell him…watch…a bulletin issued for me. He come and we go in deh….Bascom took me in.” Rondell Bacchus was at the time speaking to journalist Travis Chase of HGP TV in an exclusive interview.
Police Sargeant Dion Bascom in an explosively shocking and riveting Facebook live broadcast two weeks ago on August 8, 2022, made several damning allegations that top law enforcement officers in Guyana have been involved in corruption and the cover-up, concealing of the actors and intellectual authors in the gunning down of businessman and biker Ricardo Fagundes who was a close associate of notorious convicted drug trafficker Roger Khan.
Sargeant Bascom in his live video also alleges that Rondell Bacchus, a personality also known to law enforcement, was to be framed for the murder of Fagundes through a series of events that allegedly began with a ‘wanted bulletin’ being issued for him by the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and was to conclude with Bacchus being shot and killed in a confrontation with police.
After the wanted bulletin was issued Bascom claimed he took Bacchus into the Force’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID). GPF last week held a press conference in which it pummeled Bascom’s allegations as “untrue” and driven by “malice”. Sargeant Bascom and since pushed back on the GPF’s assertions while seeking the protection of the state through a request to President Irfaan Ali which has not materialized to date. Bascom’s attorney, Senior Partner of Hughes, Fields, and Stoby – Nigel Hughes insists his client’s life is in “grave danger” as a result of what he has said and what he knows. While Bacchus maintains he did not kill Ricardo Fagundes.
