Best wishes to our CSEC 2022 exam students

As we experience a significant COVID-19 spike and flooding across the country, thousands of secondary school students head to what is often the most important exams of Guyanese lives.

The current batch of students sitting this year’s CSEC exams had a more difficult road than most. Having entered COVID lockdown as they entered the 10th Grade, these students spent the two most important years of CSEC preparation being educated remotely.

This placed many families in a difficult financial situation, having to find a suitable device and ensure internet access to give their child the best opportunity possible to overcome the challenge of remote learning.

Now the ongoing spike in COVID cases threatens to return that pandemic to the front of their concerns. The total lack of government assistance to cover those difficulties stood out. No devices were provided. No internet cost assistance. Nothing that would make the process that is being demanded of them more practical or realistic.

In spite of these challenges, the students have put in the effort and are now on their way to facing the CSEC 2022 exams. We wish all our students across Guyana the very best at these examinations.
