COVID-19 deaths on the increase in Guyana again

The Ministry of Health yesterday, Friday, May 20, 2022, reported two new COVID-19 deaths within 24 hours as cases and deaths from the virus spike.

Earlier in the week, the Ministry reported the death of a male who died at the COVID Hospital from complications.  His death was the first reported death from COVID-19 in over a month.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported that active COVID-19 cases in Guyana stand at 453, with 2 people in the ICU. Since the start of the pandemic, Guyana has recorded a total of 64, 174 cases with 1,231 deaths.

Guyanese are urged to continue wearing their mask and to observe all COVID-19 guidelines.
