The Guyana Police Force (GPF) officer, Shawnette Bollers, who accused Nirvan Singh, the son of former Chancellor Carl Singh, of racial abuse, resigned from the Force recently.
In a Facebook post the President of the Caribbean Guyana Institute for Democracy (CGID) Rickford Burke, confirmed the resignation of Bollers who he said expressed fears for her life and family. He said the GPF has refused to protect one of its own officers and is engaging in a vendetta by allegedly planning to bring internal charges against her.
Bollers’ resignation comes six weeks after she was allegedly assaulted, verbally abused, spat on, and called a ‘Black monkey’ by Attorney Nirvan Singh.
Singh has since been charged after making his first Court appearance on April 20, 2022, and placed on $100,000 bail by Cheif Magistrate Ann McLennan. He has also been sued by Bollers for $150 million for assault and violating her Human and Constitutional Rights.
