CSEC exams postponed for 3 weeks

The Caribbean Examination Council has announced that the CSEC Exams for 2022 have been postponed for three weeks. The exams are now set to commence Monday, May 23, 2022, according to CXC CEO Dr. Wayne Wesley.

The extra time given is due to the impact of COVID-19 on students. The current batch of students would have spent their entire time in the 10th and 11th grades under various levels of COVID lockdown. With the added difficulties that those conditions brought.

A 2-week extension for the submission of SBAs was also announced. The announcement of a three-week delay follows a request by the government of Jamaica to have the exams delayed by 1 month due to the “high levels of unpreparedness of Jamaican students for the examinations”.
