Another Feral Blast: Gail tells IRI ‘Shut yuh $#%&?’

Bong Bing. On April 13, 2020, the renowned Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), IRI issued the findings of their poll. After interviewing numerous Guyanese, it was found, inter alia, that about 80% of Guyanese have little or no confidence in the electoral system.

After this revelation, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, Gail Teixeira rejected the findings of the poll commissioned by the International Republican Institute. In a desperate attempt to clutch at a straw, the senior Cabinet member resorted to an arcane ethical and legal provision on research involving humans.

The poll confirmed what everyone knows, most Guyanese view the 2020 elections as illegitimate. One can easily conclude from those findings that Guyanese are of the view that their will to return the APNU/AFC to power, was dashed.

The International Republican Institute has always incurred the wrath of the PPP because they advocate for democracy. Everyone would recall their ‘Vote Like a Boss’ campaign in 2015 which resulted in a record number of young Guyanese coming out to the polls and eventually rejecting the PPP. The Jagdeo/Ali regime fears a repeat. Hence, Gail was summoned to deliver the feral blast.

IRI was founded in 1983 and operates in over 100 countries, IRI has been working to strengthen civil society, political parties, marginalized communities, and other key areas essential to democratic governance. This NGO encourages democracy in places where it is absent, helps democracy become more effective where it is in danger, and shares best practices where democracy is flourishing. Long story short, the IRI knows how to poll and operate with the highest integrity.
