A Partnership for National Unity + Alliance For Change (APNU+AFC) Member of Parliament Amanza Walton-Desir MP and Shadow Minister of Foreign Affairs has written to the Clerk of the National Assembly seeking answers to a list of important questions in which she is seeking a written response from Hon. Hugh Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The questions are:
- Guyana Consulate in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago
- Can the Hon. Minister provide the designation of each person employed/engaged on contract by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Guyana Consulate in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago since August 2, 2020?
- Can the Hon. Minister provide the emoluments (salary and benefits) for each of the persons employed/engaged on contract by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Guyana Consulate in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago since August 2, 2020?
- Can the Hon. Minister advise whether allowances for these employment costs were made in Budget 2022 and if so under which line item?
- Can the Hon. Minister advise whether the positions filled at the Guyana Consulate in Port-of-Spain since August 2, 2020 were publicly or internally advertised and if so, provide a copy of the advertisement.
- Guyana Consulate in New York, USA.
- Can the Hon. Minister provide the designation of each person employed/engaged on contract by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Guyana Consulate in New York, United States of America, since August 2, 2020?
- Can the Hon. Minister provide the emoluments (salary and benefits) for each of the persons employed/engaged on contract by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Guyana Consulate in New York, United States of America, since August 2, 2020?

- Can the Hon. Minister advise whether the positions filled at the Guyana Consulate in New York since August 2, 2020 were publicly or internally advertised and if so, provide a copy of the advertisement.
The questions may have been prompted by reports in sections of the Guyana and Trinidad media exposing the installed PPP regime’s removal of the Guyanese Consul General in Trinidad and Tobago, and hiring of Ganga Singh, a Trinidadian citizen and executive member of the Opposition UNC party to perform the functions of Guyana’s Consulate General to Trinidad and Tobago.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Hugh Todd has however insisted that Singh’s secret appointment is that as Director of Trade, Investment and Agricultural at the Guyana Consulate in Port of Spain. Singh is allegedly being paid an outrageously high salary of USD $10,000.00 a month- over $2 million Guyana dollars. He also is allegedly receiving other benefits paid for by the people of Guyana.
Ms. Walton-Desir says she expects that these are not difficult answers to provide to the people of Guyana and awaits a response from the subject minister.
