The A Partnership for National Unity + Alliance For Change (APNU+AFC) Member of Parliament Annette Ferguson has expressed disgust at the fact that installed second Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo continues to lie to the Guyanese people without remorse.
In a post on Facebook Ferguson stated, “Mr. Third term, promised that the PPP will reverse the increased salaries to Ministers by the APNU when they returned to government. Well, this was not done. Rather, they increased their salaries by 7% in 2021.”
Ferguson also blasted the former President for his and the PPPC’s empty promises during the 2020 elections campaign. “He Jagdeo promised to reopen ALL the sugar estates. Well, well, not one has reopened to date,” she said.
“Further, he promised Public Servants a 50% increase in salaries. Well, well, the Public Servants are still waiting too. Every time this man opens his mouth, it PAINS me,” Ferguson said in frustration.
Jagdeo, during what many labeled a pre-election outreach to East Berbice-Corentyne last week, shockingly told sugar workers and Guyanese at large that the failed Skeldon Sugar Factory would be scaling back on sugar production and focus on shrimp and hemp cultivation.
Since being installed into office in August of 2020, the PPP regime has reneged and backpedaled on almost all of its campaign promises.
