Unanswered financial questions breaks up Hururu Council budget meeting

– PPP Toasho Mark Gomes guarded on Council finances

The People’s Progressive Party’s Hururu Toasho Mark Gomes had to quickly abort a planned budget meeting after angry villagers and Council members refused to allow their inquiries into the previous spending by the Village Council to go unanswered.

Credible Sources understands that the Region 10, Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice, Village Council was supposed to submit a “financial report” to the Council but failed to do so. Irate residents allege that there have been several “financial irregularities” and a number of questionable individuals involved.

In a video seen by our publication, villagers shouted “This is millions of dollars”, “The Toasho spend it and said he would put it back”, “Justice for one, justice for all”, and “This is our money”. Reports indicate that Toasho Gomes took the budget meeting elsewhere to get the newly proposed spending approved. [Developing story]
