Corporal Michael Sutton who is stationed at the Central Immigration and Passport Office in Georgetown, is receiving praises from members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and his family after copping the prestigious “Award of Excellence” from the University of Guyana Faculty of Social Science last week.
Corporal 23578 Michael Sutton, who is presently pursuing a Bachelor of Social Science Degree in International Relations within the Faculty of Social Science at the University of Guyana, is currently boasting a grade point average (GPA) of 3.8 and is on course to be the best graduating student in International Relations.
He enlisted in the Guyana Police Force on March 09, 2016. He is a multilingual officer and is currently the Force’s main Spanish interpreter for all the Magistrates’ Courts throughout Guyana. When asked what motivated him daily, Corporal Sutton, with alacrity, said, “I live by the philosophy that ‘an unmarketable product is an unwanted product’. I push myself assiduously to create an image, reputation, and skill that separate me from others with whom I share a common space, be it work or academic.”
This prestigious award started in 2018 to boost the morale and performance of students in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Corporal Sutton has his eyes set on pursuing a degree in Law after he completes his current program. The Commissioner of Police, the Deputy Chief Immigration Officer, and other ranks of the GPF wish Corporal Sutton well in his future endeavors. We look forward to greatness from this young and aspiring policeman. With time on his side, the sky’s the limit.
