APNU+AFC Member of Parliament Shurwayne Holder this afternoon again criticized the management of the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) over the constant blackouts in Region 2, the Pomeroon-Supenaam. In a Facebook post the Regional Representative wrote, “Half of Region 2 in blackout, two out of three new sets commissioned by APNU+AFC in 2019 are down with no clear indication of when they will become operational.”
The MP stated that, “to make matters worse, the two back-up generators are also down due to fuel filters being clogged and no spares available.” The recently elected Chairman of the PNCR believes that the previous APNU+AFC Government worked hard to correct these issues and it is for the new regime to build on those gains.
Holder is concerned that the administration does not have the competence and is unwilling to adopt an inclusive approach towards Governance that will allow for other political parties, Civil Society groups and others to contribute towards solving some of our basic issues as a nation. The MP is calling on all Guyanese to demand better from their Government.
