Fuel prices up by nearly $1000; GUYOIL announces a second wave of increases

In a notice posted to the company’s Facebook page recently, the Guyana Oil Company (GUYOIL) announced for the second time in less than two weeks, more increases in the price for fuel.

According to the notice, the price of gasoline will be increased by $43 per liter from $203 per liter to a whopping $246 per liter. Additionally, the price of kerosene will also be increased from $173 per liter to $235 per liter; representing a $62 increase.

It was only in February, last month, that the Company announced increases in fuel prices to the disappointment of many Guyanese.

The increases will come at a cost of $980 or more to the average Guyanese consumer who wishes to purchase a liter of the company’s four main fuel lines.
