Belles of Bartica in “big brawl” at police station

They are described as being among the People’s Progressive Party’s (PPP) “untouchables” in Bartica. Two Belle brothers of Region 7, were recently in a tussle at the Bartica Stelling which ended up into an all out “big brawl” in the Bartica Police Station, according to persons familiar with the events.

Stephen Belle is a People’s Progressive Party (PPP) Councilor at the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) in Region 7, Cuyuni-Mazaruni, and a sitting member of the Guyana Gold Board and also the President of the Bartica Speed Boat Association.

His brother, Clarence, who was allegedly seen with the screwdriver at the Bartica Stelling, is the Secretary of the Bartica Speed Boat Association. They are reported to “control the Speed Boat Association and all the other boats have to tow the line”. This is according to a Bartician who requested anonymity.

Credible Sources was reliably informed this was a brawl involving brothers and their children. Additionally, the spouses of the brothers got involved at the police station, as well. Stephen Belle was only recently implicated in a number of corrupted practices in the Region, in a leaked recording.
