Veteran Trade Unionist Lincoln Lewis believes that the PPPC government is not governing in the interest of all Guyanese as is evident with the recently held Energy Conference and Expo.
Lewis along with others was at the time protesting in front of the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown where the inaugural Energy Conference and Expo was being held.
He cited the government’s refusal to invite the main Opposition and other civil society organizations to the conference, calling the move disappointing. He is of the opinion that the President cannot be shouting “One Guyana ” when only 50% of Guyanese are involved in decision making.
The Energy Conference and Expo, which saw the attendance of three heads of state alone, and with CEOs and other VIP guests, was partly funded by the Guyanese taxpayers.
