Vishnu Samaroo, also known as Antonio, died on January 18, 2022. He was from Belvedere, Corentyne, Berbice. Vishnu was 20 years old when he succumbed to stage four cancer.
Samaroo’s father, Awad Samaroo, had made a public appeal back in October of 2021; to the authorities and in particular the Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony for help, as his son’s condition was rapidly deteriorating.
If interventions were made they proved ultimately futile, as Vishnu died on January 18, 2022 and was buried on January 21, 2022, leaving to mourn his parents and four siblings: Murphy, Nataliy, Cynthia and Brando.
His parents Awad and Nalo Samaroo were shocked beyond belief today when they discovered that his grave had been vandalized and his remains found some distance away at Hampshire Burial Ground.
The traumatic discovery was shared on social media by his parents, on their joint Facebook page. It has reopened a deep wound, occasioned by the end of his young life, in the family that had barely begun to heal.
