The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has issued a wanted bulletin for Rickford Burke, the President of the Caribbean Guyana Institute for Democracy (CGID), December 3, 2021.
Amony the offences named in the bulletin are ‘incitement of hostility or ill-will on the grounds of race’ and ‘inciting public terror’.
The move by the GPF comes one day after Burke through his attorney Eusi Anderson sent installed Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo a “Pre-action Letter in Defamation of Rickford Burke”.
In the lawyer’s letter the alledged defamation of Burke was attributed to comments Jagdeo made on a talk show, July 16, 2021. “As much as he [Burke] is flattered by the attention associated with your esteemed person and office, regrettably the attention must be premised in truth and goodwill for its proper receipt. Both are absent.”
